The Centre County Housing Trust Fund offers down payment assistance to home buyers purchasing a home in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
A maximum of $10,000, or 10% of the sales price, may be available to qualified home buyers.
The assistance loan is paid back when the property is resold, refinanced for more than the initial purchase price, ceases to be a full-time, permanent residence of the borrower(s), or the mortgage is paid in full.
You must use the property as your primary residence (no investors allowed).
The buyer's liquid assets (cash) and real property must not exceed $15,000 at the time of application, and their liquid assets must not exceed $5,000 at the time of settlement.
Sales price limitation
The home's purchase price can not be more than $237,000.
Note: The purchase price must be in line with the Keystone Home Loan Program of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.
Qualification based on income
You must be a first-time home buyer or have not owned a home in the past 3 years, as well as satisfy the non-targeted area household income restrictions.
